In the process of assessing and trouble-shooting Corporate Networks it was immediately apparent that the recipients of our work (Senior Management) were primarily interested in the consequences of analysis… the conclusions, the implications, the effect on productivity, future network design and the budget.
With these goals in the mind, and with the complication of the Internet Service Provider market which was beginning to grow furiously, it was obvious that the key to success was NOT to provide reams of Data, but to show Understandable Performance.
A colourful, graphical representation instantly communicates the message – and Highlight was born in 1998. Winterfold became Net Evidence (SLM) Ltd, a network software services company.
Over the years, Highlight network reporting has evolved from a paper-based print-out, to a real time, browser based solution. It is still based on its original roots – the provision of understandable information for the purposes of discussing the implications of networks and applications on the business
